Christina Markoulis, LCSW, CADC

WellSpace Clinician (She/Her)

Since 2008 I have been providing one-on-one therapy with individuals 18 and older. As individuals we have taken in various messaging from childhood through adulthood, and many of these messages have caused pain, suffering, and a detachment from our true self. My goal as a therapist is to identify these messages with you and reshape the narrative to assist you in finding your unique self and to begin your journey of radical self-love and healing. The work that we do together would be to uncover where these messages have come from and how to develop a narrative that reflects your authentic and true self.

The work that I do is rooted in being trauma-informed and utilizing  various modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy,  psychodynamic therapy, and building a strong therapeutic alliance  which will allow you to feel safe in discussing what has brought you  to therapy. I work closely with individuals who have eating disorders,  PTSD, depression, anxiety, negative self-image, and addiction.

As a white, cis-gender, able-bodied, fat therapist, I am dedicated to  the work of body liberation and assisting individuals on their journey  to developing a loving and peaceful relationship with their bodies.

I believe in the process of exploring self, others, and our world and  how messages of appearance impact us and how we see ourselves in the world. I believe these messages can cause the continuation of trauma, as well as a disconnection with how we see ourselves in the world.
