FAQs

  • What is an initial consultation?

An initial consultation is a free 15 minute phone conversation with our intake coordinator where you will discuss your needs and determine which therapist may be the best fit for you. If you have a particular therapist in mind you’d like to work with, please let us know. During your initial free consultation you and the intake coordinator will make a determination of who will likely be the best therapist for you. Your intake coordinator will schedule your initial assessment with your new therapist based on your availability and will provide you details of when and where your appointment will take place.

    What is an intake assessment?

An intake assessment is your first full in-person or Telehealth (virtual) appointment where you meet with your new therapist for the first time. The first session is the first opportunity to go into background, therapy goals, and for you to decide if the therapist is a good fit.

What ages to do you treat?

We treat everyone from age six and up.

Are you currently offering in-person therapy?

Our clinicians provide both in-person and HIPAA compliant Telehealth virtual therapy sessions for our new and returning clients. We continue to follow the CDC’s COVID-19 guidelines.

How do you collaborate with other team members on my treatment team?

It is sometimes necessary in the therapy process to engage other professionals, school personnel and family members, etc. to collaborate with treatment. Best practices dictates that these exchanges are both helpful and necessary. As a client, signed releases would be required for us to speak to anyone regarding your care.

What if I need to miss or cancel my appointment?

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we require a 24 hour notice. Without such notification, the cost of the session will be your responsibility as missed sessions cannot be billed to your insurance company.

Do you take insurance and what is my cost of care?

You can learn more about insurances we accept and payment expectations at our insurance information page.

Do we have a sliding scale?

Yes, all of our therapists accept a sliding scale. We work individually with clients who do not have insurance to find a comfortable investment for both parties. Our rates start at $140.00 per person.

When is payment due for each session?

Payment is due at the end of each session unless other arrangements have been made.

    Where are you located?

  • What is the process for applying to the Training Program?

If you are interested, please complete our inquiry form as well as email your resume and cover letter to erika@wellspacemaine.com. This is the best way to initiate the interview process.

What is the timeline for the Training Program?

The Wellspace Training Program launches a new Cohort every September and for most newly, conditionally licensed fellows, the program lasts for 2 years. There are exceptions for some fellows to only require one year before they can pursue licensure.
