FOR WHO:
As a therapist, I provide counseling to individuals who feel like they can no longer hold the weight of their world alone – those who ask ‘who am I, and who do I want to become?’, those who carry grief quietly until it can’t stay silent any longer, and those who are living in chronic pain or with chronic illness who need a soft place to land. I offer a grounded space in which you are able to show up exactly as you are, with room for your complexities, your fears and joys, and a respect for your lived experience. I believe that both humor and heartache can empower transformation, and that community and artistic expression can heal even the deepest of wounds.
APPROACH:
So much of the work we do in session is strengths-based and trauma-informed, and is done through the lenses of Expressive Arts Therapy, the mind-body connection, and parts work, zooming in and zooming out on the stories that we carry that tell us who we are now so that we can decide who we would like to become.
Some of those stories are tied to family, to culture, to collective loss, to systems, and to ambiguous grief. And some stories we hold are written by our anxieties, our traumas, or our depression rather than who we truly are. Part of the therapeutic work is in the discovery, in our curiosity to brush away what no longer serves us to protect and preserve the stories that do.
I never assign ‘homework,’ but I may send you off on a side quest every so often to spark joy, build resilience, or focus on rest when you need it.
I look forward to meeting you, and to welcoming you into the space!
